The 9th Koufonisia Classical Music Festival, held from July 19 to August 10, hosted world-class artists from Greece and abroad and offered unforgettable moments.
Under the theme “Cosmopolis,” the festival featured six unique concerts with 11 renowned musicians from Greece and abroad. The concerts, which spanned diverse musical styles from the Caucasus to the Americas, offered a unique musical experience.
The Koufonisia Classical Music Festival is recognised for its international repertoire and commitment to providing musical education to local pupils. Through the Music Education Programme, children study music theory, piano, and guitar during the school year–long in-person and online classes. At the same time, it’s a unique opportunity for young musicians to perform their work.
As part of the programme, in March 2024, young students travelled to Athens to attend a concert by the Athens State Orchestra, watch a play at the National Theatre, and explore cultural landmarks, such as the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum.
Recognising the importance of music and art education, we have proudly supported the Music Education Program me, an initiative that enhances equal access to cultural education for children in remote regions.
