Our team, including the President of Qualco Foundation, Mr Orestis Tsakalotos, attended this year’s annual gathering of ALPHA MISSION – ΔELOS, held on May 14 and 15 on the island of Delos. The 4th global gathering was entitled “Making Space for Life | Space Exploration for Earth Regeneration” and brought together various experts, from space scientists to archaeologists and artists, to discuss innovative ways to protect life and create a new ecological paradigm.

The 2-day programme encompassed a series of panel discussions with the participation of experts from academia and major institutions, such as NASA and the Hellenic Space Center, alongside a guided tour of the archaeological site of Delos. The Minister of Digital Governance, Mr Dimitris Papastergiou, and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mr Dimas, also attended the event.

Among the topics discussed were Delos’ significance and uniqueness, and how its history can provide lessons for a sustainable future. Additionally, the contribution of space research and technology in addressing the consequences of the climate crisis was also covered.
