#education Qualco Foundation Supports the Robotics National Finals of FIRST® Tech Challenge and FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge in Greece

As a Silver Sponsor of the FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) and the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) in Greece, Qualco Foundation was pleased to stand by the National Finals of both competitions, which took place over two consecutive weekends in March 2026 in Thessaloniki, bringing together hundreds of students, educators, and volunteers from across Greece and abroad. This year’s theme focused on exploring the past through modern technology, challenging teams to identify real-world problems in archaeology and propose innovative solutions.

Both competitions are organised in Greece by Eduact—Action for Education, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing STEAM education programmes in robotics, coding, and emerging technologies to students across the country.

The FIRST® Tech Challenge Final was held on 14 and 15 March at the YMCA Basketball Court (ΧΑΝΘ), hosting more than 350 young, aged 12 – 18 years old. A total of 27 teams competed, designing, building, programming, and operating dynamic robots. Participants also had the opportunity to gain valuable experience and connect with future educational and career pathways.

The FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge Final, reaching children 9-16 years old, took place on 21 and 22 March at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center. A total of 50 teams from around the country, advanced to the national final, with the top 13 teams securing qualification for international competitions. Qualco Foundation also had the pleasure of presenting awards during the closing ceremony, recognising the effort and achievements of the participating teams.

Supporting such initiatives is an important part of how Qualco Foundation contributes to creating meaningful learning experiences for young people. These competitions provide a space where knowledge is put into practice, and confidence is built through participation.
