#culture IEMK Presents “Nikos Skalkottas: Greek Dances for Two Pianos”
As one of the flagship initiatives of Qualco Foundation, the Institute of Greek Music Heritage (IEMK) is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting Greece’s musical tradition, reflecting our long-standing commitment to nurturing cultural heritage and fostering meaningful artistic expression nationwide.
In this context, we are proud to announce that IEMK will host, under its auspices, the concert cycle “Nikos Skalkottas: Greek Dances for Two Pianos.” This significant artistic tour brings renewed attention to one of the most emblematic works of 20th-century Greek music. The concert series will visit key cities in Greece, offering audiences the opportunity to experience this remarkable repertoire through a fresh and profound interpretation. For the first time, selected Dances will be presented in a transcription for two pianos by pianists Chara Iakovidou and Ludovic Frochot.
Through such initiatives, IEMK continues to enhance the visibility and appreciation of Greece’s rich musical legacy.
