#education INEL Celebrates World Greek Language Day with a Series of Initiatives
On the occasion of the UNESCO World Greek Language Day, celebrated annually on February 9, the Greek Language Institute (INEL), a core initiative of Qualco Foundation, is implementing a series of actions in Greece and abroad dedicated to the promotion and teaching of the Greek language.
Among the highlights is the inspiring story of Garen, a 17-year-old Armenian from Istanbul who began learning Greek at age 9. The programme also includes two digital publications: “What Does It Mean to Teach Greek?” featuring contributions from educators across Greece and 24 countries, and “The Letter-heroes Interact with Children”, which brings together 79 students and 18 educators from eight countries.
Additional activities include an interactive school presentation delivered by the President of INEL, Ms Evangelia Georgantzi, the free professional development webinar series “In the Classroom and in Practice”, and a lecture on Artificial Intelligence in Education by Professor Giannis Emiris.
Qualco Foundation is proud to support INEL in this international outreach, which reflects its strategic commitment to strengthening education and sustaining the living character of the Greek language. Through this initiative, INEL further reinforces its role as a connecting force within the global Greek-speaking educational community, ensuring the continued relevance and international presence of the Greek language.
